英語的寓言故事

  民間文學中的寓言故事雖短小精悍、情節簡單,但寓意深刻,下面這些是小編為大家推薦的幾篇。

  1:丟失斧頭的人

A man lost his axe, and began to suspect the son of his neighbor to have the appearance of a thief no matter from what angle he looked at him.

After a period of time, he found his axe when was digging his well.

From then on, when he saw him again, he found the son of his neighbor did not like a thief in any way, such as the way of walking, his look, the way of talking, manner, and so on.

  2:魚之樂

The intelligent Zhang Zi and the clever Hui Zi were strolling on the bridge over the Haoshui River.

Zhuang Zi said, "The fish is swimming freely and unhurriedly in the water. What a pleasure!"

Hui Zi said, "You are not the fish. How could you know that the fish is joyous?"

Zhuang zi said, "You are not me, and how could you know that I can't tell whether the fish is joyous or not?"

Hui Zi said, "No, I am not you and do not know what you are thinking about .

But you are not fish. So you cannot know whether the fish is joyous or not. This is for sure."

Zhuang Zi said, "When you said 'How could you know that the fish was joyous.' So I know the fish is joyous, and I know this on the Haoshui River."

  3:Steer a boat dexterously

Once Yan Yuan asked his mentor Confucius why those who are good at swimming or diving can learn how to steer a boat very quickly.

Confucius said, "It is because those who are good at swimming do not fear water when they are in it.

Those who are good at diving regard abysms***深遠*** just as land and hills.

They can handle any dangerous situation with ease. This kind of people is undaunted***勇敢的*** at any place.

Ingambling, when person chips in his tiles he sometimes wins. When he chips in his sliverhook, his mind is in dread.

When he chips in his gold, he feels dizzy and has fear in his mind. This is because he values worldly possessions too much Thus, those who think too much of worldly possessions must have clumsy thoughts."
