Dear Uncle,
How are you?
Next week an English speaking contest will be held in the city. A classmate of mine and I will take part in it on behalf of my school. I am excited but also mervous, because it is a good chance to improve my English. But I have no experience. Although I have been preparing for the contest, I am still not confident. As an expert in English, what would you advise me to prepare for the contest?
I plan to pay a visit to you this Saturday morning. I wonder whether you will be free then. If not, could you tell me the time that is convenient for you? I am eager to get your instruction. I will appreciate any of your help.

Dear Tom,
I’m so glad to receive your last letter. I can’t thank you enough for your advice and help in my English study, due to which I’ve made great progress in learning English.
As for your language study, I’m concerned to know that you are facing some difficulties when studying Chinese. I’m willing to offer you some help. As you know, Chinese is so flexible that you need to pay attention to the different meanings of a word or phrase in different situations. Besides, it is difficult for foreigners to write Chinese characters, especially for the beginners. So I advise you to learn some oral Chinese first. Then you may begin to try writing some simple Chinese characters. Finally, there is one point for you to remember: practice makes perfect.
Another suggestion is that you should experience the native Chinese language environment in person. How about coming to China during the summer holiday? We can talk about our experience in language learning with each other.
Best wishes!
Yours Sincerely
Li Hua
