篇一
Tom is a very old man. After dinner, he likes walking in the street. And he goes to bed at seven o’clock.
湯姆是一位老人,他喜歡在晚飯後到大街上散步,在7點回來睡覺。
But tonight, a car stopped at his house. A policeman helps him get out. He tells Tom’s wife, “The old man couldn’t find his way in the street. He asked me to take him in the car.”
但是,今天晚上一輛小汽車停在他家門前,湯姆在一位警察的幫助下走下汽車。警察告訴湯姆的妻子:“這位老人在街上迷路了,他讓我用汽車送他回來。”
After the policeman leaves there, his wife asks, “Tom, you go to the street every night.But tonight you can’t find the way, what’s the matter?”
警察走後:“湯姆,你每天都到那條街上散步,但是今天你迷路了,你怎麼了?”
The old man smiles like a child and says, “I couldn’t find my way? I didn’t want to walk home.”
這位老人像孩子般的笑道:“我迷路了?我是不想走路回家。”

It’s sunny day in spring. Miss Cat is fishing. Suddenly the fishing rod moves. “Great! Oh, it’s so heavy!” Miss Cat says happily.
這是春天裡一個陽光明媚的日子,貓小姐在河邊釣魚。突然魚竿動了動。“太棒了!哇,好重啊!”貓小姐高興地喊著。
The fish is plucked out of the river. “Oh, a big fish! How big the fish is!” She cheers. But she puts the fish into the river and goes on fishing.
魚被拉出來了。“啊!一條大魚!這條大魚可真大呀!”她歡呼道。但是她卻把魚放回河裡,又繼續釣魚。
At the time Mr. Horse goes by and sees it. “Why do you set it free?” He asks. “Because my pot is too small, I can’t cook it,” Miss Cat says.
這時候馬先生路過,看見這一切,就問她:“為什麼你把魚放了?” “因為我的鍋太小。我沒辦法燒這麼大的魚。”貓小姐回答說。

Mr. Li is a good painter. One day he draws a beautiful dragon without eyes.
李先生是位很好的畫家。一天畫了一條栩栩如生的龍,但是這隻龍沒有眼睛。
Mr. Zhou looks at the picture and says, “The dragon has no eyes. It isn’t a good picture.”
周先生見了說:“這條龍沒有眼睛。這不算一張好畫。”
But Mr. Li smiles and says, “If I add eyes to the dragon, it will fly away.”
可是李先生笑著說:“如果我給它加上眼睛,它就會飛走了。”
Mr. Zhou shakes head and says, “You are boasting. I don’t believe you.”
周先生搖頭說:“你吹牛。我不相信。”
Mr. Li isn’t angry. He holds the paintbrush and adds eyes to the dragon. Wow! The dragon really flies.
李先生也不生氣,只是拿起筆給龍點上眼睛。哇!龍真的飛走了。

A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, “What did you want the most when you were there?” The boy replied, “Air.” Socrates said, “That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it. There is no other secret.” 一個年輕人向蘇格拉底詢問成功的祕訣,蘇格拉底讓年輕人第二天早晨到河邊 見他。他們見面後,蘇格拉底叫年輕人和他一起走向河裡,當河水淹至他們的 脖子時,蘇格拉底出其不意地抓住年輕人並把其壓入水中,那人想要掙出水面, 而強壯有力的蘇格拉底將他摁在水中直到他變得無力抗爭,臉色發青。蘇格拉 底將他的頭拖出水面,這個年輕人所做的第一件事就是大口喘息後,深吸一口 氣。蘇格拉底問: “當你悶在水裡的時候你ZUI想要的是什麼?”年輕人回答說: “空氣。 ”蘇格拉底說: “那就是成功的祕訣。當你像渴望空氣一樣渴望成功, 你就能夠獲得它!沒有其他的祕密了。 ” .
