Have you ever heard "When the going gets tough, the tough get going?" Michael Jordan has. Sports fan or not everyone has heard of Michael Jordan.
He has received numerous awards including being voted as the best athlete of the 20th century by ESPN in 1999. Earning over 80 million dollars endorsing Nike, and millions as a NBA superstar, it is safe to say that Jordan has been successful. Yet success didn't come easily.
Did you know that in 1978 he was cut from his high school varsity team? Not giving up, he trained hard and with the help of a growth spurt, got accepted on the varsity team the following year.
His talent was recognized and he was given a basketball scholarship from the university of North Carolina. To compare Jordan to everyone else would be unrealistic. His athletic ability has made him the best basketball player ever to grace the courts.
But what he does have in common with Everyman is the inner strugle we all must face when recognizing our talents. Believing in yourself when no one else does could be the key to your success.

The day was going smoothly until about 11 am when two men approached his counter. One ofthem grabbed his new tie. The other pointed a gun at him. “This is a holdup. Give us themoney”, one said.Nick was terrified. “It is my first day, I don't know where the safe is,” he said. “Don't lie to us, get us the money or we'll shoot you.” Nick had to think fast. “Okay, it's downhere. Hold on.”
Nick pretended to reach down under his desk. Instead, he got down on the ground, slid underhis desk and grabbed both men's legs. He tackled them and they fell to the ground. The policewere called and Nick saved the day!
As the helicopter hovered in mid air, Shannonstrapped on her parachute. Her crew was sent toput out a fire that had spread over 200 miles. Therewere no roads to reach the fire, so the firefighterswere arriving by helicopter. She waited for her turnand then jumped.
Because this was Shannon's eighth year and she had experience jumping out of helicopters, she was not particularly nervous. But when her chord jammed and her chute didn't open,Shannon panicked. To make matters worse, she was heading straight for the heart of the fire.
She was falling fast, if she did not get her chute open soon she was going to die. Just then, below her, she saw the man who had jumped out of the helicopter before her.
She knew if she wanted to live she was going to have to grab onto him and she could floatdown with him.
She was quickly getting closer and closer. She positioned herself and she grabbed onto his leg.The man was shocked, but pulled Shannon up and together they landed safely on the ground.
