一般形容詞比較級用法
***一***英語形容詞比較級的構成
英語形容詞比較等級有三個：原級，比較級和最高階。
形容詞比較等級形式變化有規則的和不規則的兩種。
***二***一般句式的構成： A + is / are+ 形容詞比較級+ than + B
A 是主格 B 是賓格
如： She is taller than me.
主格 形容詞比較級 賓格
規則變化
1***單音節詞末尾加-er***比較級***，-est***最高階***
【例】 原級 比較級 最高階
great greater greatest
small smaller smallest
clean cleaner cleanest
2***單音節如以e結尾，只加-r***比較級***，-st***最高階***
【例】 fine finer finest
nice nicer nicest
wide wider widest
3***閉音節單音節詞如末尾只有一個子音字母，須先雙寫這個子音字母，再加-er***比較級***，-est***最高階***
【例】 big bigger biggest
hot hotter hottest
red redder reddest
4***少數以-y，-er，ow，-ble結尾的雙音節詞，末尾加-er***比較級***，-est***最高階***。以-y結尾的詞，如-y前是子音字母，則變y為-i，再加-er和-est。以-e結尾的詞只加-r和-st。

5***其它雙音節和多音節詞皆在前面加單詞more和most。
【例】 careful more careful most careful

注：有些形容詞一般沒有比較等級。如： right, wrong, woolen等。
形容詞的比較等級的用法：比較級用於二者的比較。
【例】 Li Ping is older than Wang Hai. 李平比王海年紀大。
There are more students in Class One than in Class Two.一班比二班學生多。
other後既可接可數名詞複數形式又可接不可數名詞，如：可數，other pencils 其它的鉛筆，other students 其他的學生。不可數other tea 別的/其它的茶，other information 別的/其它訊息。
the other 定指其它的……，其後可接可數名詞和單數，如：
the other book 另外的一本書，
the other map 另一張地圖，
其後也可跟可數名詞的複數形式，如：
the other flowers 其他的花朵，the other teachers 其它的老師們，還可以接不可數名詞，如：the other water 剩下的水，the other beer 別的啤酒
others 其用法相當於複數名詞，此詞不能用作定語，表示的意思是“不具體的某些東西”，如：
This chemical is poisonous . Others are poisonous , too . *** others = other chemicals ***
但是如果others前用了the ，則表示具體的別的東西。如：
I don’t want these books . Please give me the others .*** the others = the other books
another，作形容詞時，是指在原有的基礎上再加一***些***，表示“再一***些***”或“另外一個***些***”的意思。 another還可作代詞，意思與作形容詞時一樣。another作形容詞時，是指在原有的基礎上再加一***些***，表示“再一***些***”或“另外一個***些***”的意思，在心理上至少有三個。 another還可作代詞，意思與作形容詞時一樣。 the other也是既能作形容詞，又能作代詞。但它一般用來表示總數為二時的“另外一個”，經常與one搭配。 other也能既作形容詞又可作代詞，意思是“別的，另外的”。 others只能作代詞，意思是“其它的人***物或事等***”，常用來泛指。 the others也只能作代詞，意思與others相近，但常用來特指。
