　　「交際指南」
　　1. 英美人談論天氣，除個別情況是實實在在地瞭解天氣情況外，其他絕大部分情況都不是為了天氣而談天氣，而是為了引入新的話題。比如旅行的人們坐在車上，彼此互不認識，假若大家都默默地坐著，那未免太尷尬，而讓人難受。為了打破這種冷局，人們就得無話找話說，說什麼呢? 在英美人看來，最方便也是最安全的辦法，就是談論天氣。因為天氣這一話題人人都可以發表見解，且不涉及他人私事***英美人視打聽私事為大忌***，也不至於失禮或引起誤解。***另外，據說英國人尤其喜歡談論天氣，還與他們國家的多變天氣有關，英國是世界上少有的幾個天氣異常多變的國家之一，那裡往往是上午還是陽光普照，下午就會大雨淋漓，一小時前還是晴空萬里，一小時後就會霧都茫茫。因此，談論或預測天氣很自然就成了英國人最經常的話題***。 談論天氣不僅僅是陌生人之間為了答腔或引入話題的慣用手段，就是熟悉人甚至朋友之間也常用之。
　　2. 簡潔是口語的一大特點，因此在談論天氣時，為了簡潔起見，人們常使用一些省略句。 如：
　　It‘s a lovely day， isn’t it?
　　→Lovely day， isn‘t it?
　　It‘s rather cold today， isn’t it?
　　→Rather cold， isn‘t it?
