:Learn to Treasure What You Have Got

The biggest weakness of human nature is that they don't know how to treasure what has been achieved. This is exactly the reason why we always think that "the grass is greener on the other side of the fence", and also the explanation to most of the betrayals and regrets in life. We won't be conscious of how important something is until the moment we lose it.

The fatal shortcoming is reflected in our childhood. A kid may easily get fond of other kids' toys and begin to treat his own ones like garbage. A little girl may burst into tears when another kid takes one of her dolls away, even if she does not like this doll at all before the robbery. As grown ups, we still can't stop scrambling for dolls. Sarcastically, it's uncertain whether they are really that priceless to us or not.

The Bible has never failed to teach people to learn the true meaning of treasure and gratitude. But it seems that few of us are good students. Sometimes we suddenly realize what we have is precious, but the satisfaction will not last for long. We forget about it the next day, and begin our greedy, endless hunt again for what we haven't got yet.

Maybe it's hard to change human nature. So the only thing we can do is to remind ourselves to be grateful again and again, and learn lessons from bitter regrets time after time. A grateful mood is difficult to keep for we are too forgetful to the pains we have suffered, but as long as we can feel the gratitude, we will begin to relish our life.

An easily satisfied person is always the one who is easy to be happy. We all know the following story.

A vagrant is lying on the bench, enjoying the sunshine. A millionaire comes to ask him, "Why don't you go to work and make some money?" "Why should I?" "Then you can come back and enjoy the sunshine more comfortably!" But the vagrant answers, "Now I am comfortable enough, so it's not necessary to go to work at all." The interesting story just wants to show us that the "well being" standard of your life is determined by your attitude. Anyway, enjoying your own beautiful green grass with gratitude is far more satisfying than envying your neighbor's.

  :should newspapers be replaced

with the development of our society, changes occur everyday. every morning we get up only to find that science and technology have simultaneously bumped into our room and soon spread to the whole world. digital camera has replaced camera;mp3 in place of discman and walkman; intelligence administrating society instead of man-administrating community. surely the media field has also been influenced. the traditional way of printing news through newspapers has now been confronted with the never-met challenge. we begin to wonder, should the news paper be replaced?

some people hold that the newspaper is bound to be media of the past. to start with, time plays the most important role.as is shown, what has been in the newspaper is outdated. that is to say, if we want to approach the latest news, newspaper is simply not a good way. for example, on sept. 11, the moment the event took place, internet and tv followed right away.that's just what technology has brought us. to follow is its limitation in reporting news. no newspaper can present all aspects of our life, for each serves a different goal. that means we have to consult different newspapers to meet our different needspared with other ways of media, computer, for instance, through which we can get everything we want to know with only a little tapping of our fingers, is superior.

quite on the contrary, others hold the opinion that even with the development of science and technology, newspaper, as symbol of the traditional media, won't disappear, for some of its advantages can't be replaced. first of all, it's convenient to carry about wherever you are. newspapers can be easily packed in your suitcase, and can be bought everywhere. how to imagine carrying a computer, only for several pieces of news? second, newspapers offer a free choice for its readers. having a news paper, you can select what you do or do not want to read while tv or radio or even computer will probably confine your eyes to those that you regard as rubbish. last, newspapers offer comments. generally speaking, newspapers, especially formal ones, include formal remarks on the important events that provide you with a better understanding.

concerning those two opposed opinions, i support the latter. though the highly developed science and technology influence almost every corner of the world and quicken the pace of globalization which makes the idea of "sharing the source" come true, newspaper, as the traditional way of media, cannot be abolished, not only because of its irreplaceable advantages but its collectability and its inner charm of witnessing the good old days. the form changes, but the spirit never.

如“compared with other ways of media, computer, for instance, through which we can get everything we want to know with only a little tapping of our fingers,is superior.”又如:“qulte on the contrary, others hold the opinion that even with the development“science and technology, newspaper,as symbol of the traditional media, won,t disappear, for some of“s advantages can't be replaced.”

  :Mood

Listening to the CD you sent to me "the solo piano",which is my favorite style of music there is something painful to soak into my body, little by little. The feeling is one thing named "loneliness", from a worn heart on a distant land. The heart is yours.

Without doubt, you are really a special friend of mine. We lived and learned love. We raced the sea and challenged the sky. From you I learned what it meant to laugh as well as cry, and I learned how to give as well as how to take.

Before I met you, I thought the sky was gray. I was a high achiever, but no matter how hard I worked, how many times I attempted, there was still a strong force which constrained me.So I was sensitive to everything around me. I really tasted the flavor of "loneliness." But you pulled me out. I still remember that night Snow was descending deep in places that looked shadow and covered up all kinds of filthy things You came up to me who was weeping and gave me a piece of paper, which It's easy in everyday life.

To be caught up in webs of nonexistent problems,

Worries with not enough space to prove themselves.

  Depressions with no meaning.

  All these forces working together.

Gaining more and more power by pushing you

  Further back into yourself.

  Until it's self pity.

  Life is against you.

  Everything is wrong.

  Then bitterness.

The world is at fault, you begin to hate

Then it's over without having ever existed.

  Life is beautiful.

  You are beautiful

  The world is yours

  Cry tears of joy.

How could something so right ever be wrong?

  But turn and look again.

You will be running for the rest of your life,

Trying to escape the reality of mood.

  And the human mind...

You said to me with a temperate voice:"Hear the song of the bird? In spite of the snow and the wet and the coldness and the loneliness, the bird is singing. It believes that it can fly to

I beamed, only for your word. Henceforth, I didn't feel lonely, because of you. Now I want to give you the poem you've given me and tell you: You won't feel lonely because of me."

We don't fear the punishment of life;we just can't suffer the days without communication and love. We've dreamed of the serene life.

The dawn had just broken above the distant horizon and the pure silver light of morning flooded the field. We were treated to a brilliant display of rounded hill, dotted with sheep. Wild blue berries grew along the path home. Everything was in bloom. We rode on a swan boat or just sat in the sun; we were not afraid of the coming rainstorm, because we soaked our psyche in the sunshine and we were sure that we could recover and rebuild the beauty after the tempest.

So you must be sturdy. You are capable of coping with any difficulty. Please feel in touch with the world out of your window. You can smell my breath in the fresh air. You can see my childlike smile through the sunshine. You can hear my mild calling from the song of a lovely bird.

Remember: keep a beautiful mind. I will pray for you everyday, and my heart will go with you wherever you are.

另外作為心情感言,作者在描寫心情時婉婉道來,用詞典雅,如:“Before I met you,I thought the sky was gray...How many times I attempted, there was still a strong force which constrained me...I really tasted the flavor of‘loneliness.’”等。

  溫馨的文筆,感人的描述使本文值得一讀。
