Recently there appears a news on the internet that when the passers-by help the old fallen down on the ground, they’ll be pit. Therefore, our class holds a heated debate on whether we should help the old in trouble. The results are quietly different.
Most of the students are in favor of it. They think helping the old in trouble is a traditional virtue of Chinese, we should stick to it and develop it further. what’s more, if we turn a blind eye to those who need help, our whole society will become dangerous, and unsteady.
While, every coin has two sides. There are still a part of students who are against it. They hold a view that if we help them but are misunderstood by them, they don’t want to put them into an awkward situation.
Personally, I think it is necessary to help the old under the legal protection. Because the phenomenon will get rise to the people’s concern about their actions. As long as everyone is willing to do others a favor, the government should take measures to guarantee the profit of those who help others. Only by getting rid of the worry can people help them actively.
In current days , with the development of society and economic ,series of social problems are appeared. In order to analyze this phenomenon three universities in Beijing jointly distribute an opinion poll about “Should you help the old when he/she falls down on the street?”.
From the result of this survey, we know that 29.6 percent of the people are surveyed think that whether they help the old or not will according to the circumstance. The people who will help the old are the most ,they accounted for 64.8 percent of them. And also have 8.3 percent hold the view that the old shouldn’t be help.
Why don’t they help the old falls down on the street? 5.3 percent of them are lack of medical knowledge. And 7.2 percent of them think that it’s not related to them. But the major, 87.4 percent of them are afraid of getting themselves into trouble.
Through this result, we can see clearly that crisis of confidence between people. Sincere and confidence are replaced by dishonest and hypocritical. Cautious and alert are deeply rooted.
In my opinion, we all should help each other. Respect and take good care of the old is the traditional Chinese virtues. When we meet the case, we’d better call health care workers for help. Because we lack of medical knowledge may cause more harm to the old. I hope there is less harm and more worm in our life.
3:Should we help others in need?
Helping others has always been a kind of traditional Chinese culture. But what’s strange nowadays is that people dare not give a hand to those in need. I would like to express my opion on it.
Firstly, I think people’s moral sense***道德觀念*** has degraded***降低***. When egoism ***利己***gains the upper hand, many people find it hard to help others. Secondly, there is no denying that some tragic events turn out to be traps by people with ill intentions. So common people are becoming more risk-conscious and are more wary of traps and deceits. In general, I contend the idea that we should be warm-hearted and offer help as well as look out for potential hazards so as not to be deceived.
4:Should we help old people up when they fall over
At a glance, this seems to be a simple question that requires only a "yes" or "no" answer. However, due to various incidents that have occurred recently, this issue has now become a topic worth contemplating about.
This event can be dated back to november,26,2006 that a resident of Nan Jing called Peng Yu who helped an old lady and sent her to the hospital. However, the old lady and her family stated categorically that Peng was the man who knocked her and insisted him to bear thousands of medical expenditure. Rejected by Peng,Xu began a suit in Gu Lou Court and ask 130 thousands’ compensation for damage. Finally the court pronounced that Peng should indemnify her 45876 Yuan.
If it were not him who knocked the old lady, Peng has no responsibility to sent her to the hospital. But it is our traditional virtue that taking pleasure in helping others and doing boldly what is righteous. Such kinds of reports can be seen frequently that the one who did good and got nothing but legal sanctions which is a shock to the sense of a community. From then on, the reports that people are dear to help others are nothing new
Such kinds of things exerted a bad influence in the society which began with doing good but ended up with retribution.
Does Lei Feng spirit exist in the second decade of 21 century? When seeing old lady fall in the ground, what shall we do? Help or not? Do good or not? When seeing someone needs help, would you give him a hand? It is not a problem for a person who has conscience; however it becomes more and more perplexed. This phenomenon not only reflects people’s moral anxiety in the conversion of society but also the culpable problem in society and moral developments after reforming and opening. We will investigate people’s idea out of this consideration.
