:揠苗助長

In the Han Dynasty, there was an official called Yang Yun who was both capable***有才華的*** and honest. 漢朝漢宣帝時,有個很有名的人叫楊惲,他的父親是漢昭帝時的丞相,母親是史學家司馬遷的女兒。他從小受到良好的教養,少年時在朝廷中的名氣就很大,因為向漢宣帝舉發大將霍光謀反,被封為平通侯。漢朝當時的社會賄賂風氣很嚴重,有錢人用錢行賄,可以到處玩樂,沒錢賄賂的人就要一年到頭辛苦地工作。因此他大力革除了這些弊病,整頓了朝廷的不良風氣,獲得人們的稱讚。他自認為功勞很高,有時目中無人,得罪了太僕戴長樂。
有一次,楊惲聽說匈奴的首領單于被人殺了,便說:“這是不明是非的君王,忠心的臣子提議的治國策略不用,卻聽信小人的讒言,殺害忠良,結果性命不保,國家滅亡。秦朝如果不是因為這樣,也許現在還存在,而不會被漢朝代替。自古以來,各朝代的君王都是如此,喜歡聽信小人的讒言,就像從同一個山丘裡出產的貉,沒有什麼差別。”這話傳到長樂的耳裡,他連忙向漢宣帝報告,宣帝聽到楊惲把自己和歷代君王比作“一丘之貉”感到非常震怒,再加上長樂又說了許多楊惲對宣帝不滿的壞話,因此就下令革去楊惲的官職。
後來“一丘之貉”用來比喻那些臭氣相投、不務正業的人。
:螳臂當車
