大學簡單的英語短文:女性不如男性嗎
I had always believed that men and women in our country were not only equal in social position but also in intelligence. But when I first entered the college, I found that some boy students seemed indeed to be more intelligent and much quicker at understanding than girl students. I felt somewhat inferior, and I began to doubt whether I could succeed. Are men and women really equal in intelligence?
I am often troubled by the question. Then I happened to got hold of a book about Madame Curie. I was deeply impressed by her strong will power. Madame Curie worked hard so she became a top student in her university. After graduation she became a well-known physicist and some years later she got the Nobel Prize. From then on, she became a great encouragement to me in my study. Where there is a will, there is a way. At last I became the top student in my class and got the first prize in the English and physics competitions. This made me fee certain that women are no less clever than men. Besides, I was also active in physical exercises. I joined the track and field team and took part in ping-pong competitions. I was really proud of myself for being the women's all-round champion in the sports meet of our college. This proved again that a girl can do just as well as a boy.As a matter of fact, many women in our country have proved that they can make just as great contributions to the four modernizations as men. For instance, Hua Yi, an expert of hovercrafts, and Xie Lijuan , the vice-mayoress of Shanghai are just two examples.
I firmly believe there will be more and more women writers, women scientists, and women enterprisers in our country. I hope I can become one of them in the near future.
大學簡單的英語短文:學生是否應該做家務
Some parents think that it is necessary and sometimes important for students to do some housework. Housework is a kind of physical exercise necessary for mental development. Other parents, however, think that it is study that is of extreme importance to students. Priority should first and foremost be given to study both at school and at home. Hence students should be exempt from any tedious and time-consuming housework.
I think students should share some housework with their parents. The reasons are as follows. First, doing some housework can enable the students to have some sense of responsibility. There is a lot of housework in each family. As a member of the family, each one should do his or her share. Since a student is a member of the family, undoubtedly, he is of no exception. In the second place, doing some housework can give the student opportunities to get to know his parents better. By doing housework, a student will know how hard it is for his parents to go to work everyday while raising a
family. He will make even greater efforts in his study later on. Finally, doing some housework can give the student a chance to do some physical exercises. Since the student has to sit studying most of the time, this is certainly beneficial to his health. In light of the above, I strongly recommend that those who are not in the habit of doing housework start doing some right now. Your parents will be pleased and you will learn something from it.
大學簡單的英語短文:科學技術的重要性
We Need to Broaden Our Knowledge
Knowledge is power, especially scientific and technological knowledge. Science and technology are the motive power of the social development. Without them human society could never have developed from primitive society to modern society. Therefore, to conquer and transform nature, we must master scientific knowledge.
However, social knowledge is also essential. Without it we can not understand society and don't know the law of the social development. As a result we are unable to tovern society. Therefore, besides scientific knowledge we need to master social science, philosophy, politics, history, aesthetics, etc, so that we can know society from all perspectives and form a correct world outlook.
To meet new challenges in he 21st century, we university students should lose no time to acquire as much knowledge as possible so that we will become qualified successors of the socialist cause.
