　　新加坡

　　柑橘是必購年貨。新加坡華人在拜年時，一定用一個精緻的小紙袋裝上兩個柑橘作為賀年禮，以表達“大吉大利”、“兩粒黃金”和“好事成雙”的多重祝福。“紅包”本是必不可少的，但是今年“紅包”將被“金包”代替。因為金、藍、黑和白被認為是今年新加坡的吉利色，而華人不喜歡在春節用素色，所以多選金色。

　　馬來西亞

　　華人中有20%的天主教和基督教徒，而他們也過春節。為此，教堂大年初一開放，供這些教徒做彌撒，教堂還允許華人的舞獅隊到教堂舞獅，象徵興旺發達。在正月十五，未婚男孩向未婚女孩拋蘋果，而女向男拋柑橘，希望未來找一個如意郎君或溫柔女孩。

　　伊拉克

　　為數不多的華人們喜歡吃從底格里斯河裡打撈上來的螃蟹，可伊拉克本國人因為不知如何下嘴，不吃螃蟹。哈尼店的伊拉克老闆一般只進少量的螃蟹，如果趕上哪家中國公司來人多，或是使館舉辦活動採購，這家小店的東西就會被搶購一空。所以，要想在節日裡能保證吃上螃蟹，就要隔三差五到這家店逛逛。然而，美國的部分華人卻在春節忌吃螃蟹，因其有橫行霸道或不行正路之名，可見同宗、異地文化的差異。
