知足常樂
人為什麼會不開心?其中的一個原因是不能知足，不會知足，所謂知足常樂。人怎樣才能知足呢?什麼能讓人的心得到真正的滿足呢?動物為什麼不會得憂鬱症呢?因為人是有靈魂的。人的靈魂不是物質的，所以用物質的東西去滿足靈魂的空虛是行不通的，這就是為什麼有許多的有錢人，歌星、影星去吸毒，甚至自殺，因為他們的物質太豐富了，要什麼有什麼，他們發現，這些東西都不能滿足他們，於是他們就鋌而走險，吸毒，因為他們的靈魂太空虛了。為什麼窮人反而常常的快樂呢?因為他們有奮鬥的目標，而富人沒有目標了，在物質上他們要什麼有什麼了。
什麼能滿足人的靈魂呢?既然靈魂不是物質的，那麼物質的一定不能滿足，只有造人靈魂的神才能滿足。奧古斯丁說，人的靈魂是神所造的，惟有神才能滿足。這就是許多基督徒常常快樂的原因。真正的基督徒是不會得憂鬱症的，是不會自殺的，也不會離婚的，人為什麼會離婚?其中的一個原因也是因為發現婚姻不能真正的滿足他們的靈魂需要，當然還有其他的原因了。
耶穌說，人若賺得全世界，卻賠上自己的靈魂，有什麼益處呢?人還能拿什麼換靈魂呢?他又說：我來了，是要叫羊人得生命，並且得的更豐盛，他還說，人若渴了靈魂的渴，可以到我這裡來喝。
耶穌又說，我就是生命靈魂的糧，到我這裡來的，必定不餓，信我的必定不渴靈魂不再飢渴。
不失其所者久，死而不亡者壽
老子的這句話，我沒有皈信耶穌基督之前，我是不懂的，但是我讀了聖經之後，我明白了是什麼意思了。
不失其所者久，“所”是指居住的地主，就是居所的意思，人類的居所在哪裡呢?什麼居所可以讓我們永遠不會失去呢?所有的物質的居所都不能永久的存在，《聖經》詩篇90篇告訴我們，神是我們的居所，並且是永遠的。他是人類靈魂永遠的歸宿，人只要找到了這個居所，就找到了永遠的家了。 這就是不失其所者，並且是永遠久的。
死而不亡者壽是什麼意思呢?人死了為什麼又不亡呢?老子在這裡告訴我們，人是有靈魂的，不但老子相信人有靈魂，中國許多的古人都是相信的，可惜現在的人把老祖宗的東西都丟棄了，所以才活得這樣的空虛。
耶穌說：“復活在我，生命也在我，信我的人，雖然死了，也必復活。”信耶穌的人就得到了永生了。耶穌他是神是人靈魂永遠的家，是人惟一的歸宿，找到了他，就找到安息，他說，凡勞苦擔重擔的人，可以到我這裡來，我就使你們得安息，找到了他就找到了真正的滿足和喜樂。因為人的靈魂是他所造的，惟有他才能滿足。
