水幕太陽能牆從外到內包括三層，外層是由太陽能電池板和厚玻璃組成，中間層是個可開可閉的空氣層，內層就是有水流經過的水幕玻璃層。在夏季，太陽能電池板能遮擋掉部分陽光，室外的熱空氣進入空氣層後，接觸到了水幕牆，透過蒸發作用產生冷卻降溫的作用。“上海的夏天實在太熱了，水幕牆不可能完全替代空調。”總代表MaryseDondrille女士坦言，“不過水幕牆可以最大限度地減低室內溫度，降低了整個建築對中央空調的依賴。”
