　　i remember my brother as a sweet baby, bringing much fun and delight to the family with his pleasant gabbles of nonsense. he was a very likable chubby little thing, always on his feet climbing up and down, chasing after insects, birds, and me.

　　i do not recall him ever having any white clothes since he started school. he was etremely untidy, he used to come home with a face of smudges, an inkspattered shirt, a pair of dirt-bedraggled pants.

　　he did not care much for ready-made toys, and was very anious to break them into bits, to satisfy his childish curiosity. but he treasured his sell-made toys, such as the slingshots which he used to break the glasses on the windows, and had receivedpunishments time and time again.

　　我記得我的弟弟還是一個可愛的小孩時，就以他那討人喜歡的無意識的胡談，給家人帶來許多樂趣。他是個胖乎乎的`逗人喜歡的小傢伙，他的腳不停地爬上爬下，追逐昆蟲、鳥和我。

　　我不記得自他入學校後，有哪件衣服是乾淨的。他非常地不整潔。回家時，他常常是臉上滿是汙點，襯衣上沾滿墨水漬，褲子上全是塵土。

　　他不太喜愛現成的玩具，而是急於將它們一片片拆開，來滿足他童稚的好奇心。不過，他很珍愛他自己製造的玩具，如他常常用來射擊窗門上玻璃的彈弓，為此他曾受到過多次責罰。
